PARTICIPATING CITY OF HOUSTON DEPARTMENTS AND KEYNOTE REPRESENTATIVES WILL DISCUSS SPECIFICS ON DOING BUSINESS WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE DEPARTMENTS WHILE REVIEWING UPCOMING BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES PER FY 2018 BUDGETS.
 
OPENING REMARKS:
 Carlecia D. Wright, Director, Office of Business Opportunities will review the Office's goals, objectives and accomplishments as well as introduce the following City of Houston Department Representatives: 
  • General Services - C.J. Messiah, Director and Eric Alexander, Manager, Contract Compliance, Property Management Division.
     
  • Housing and Community Development - Karen Franklin, Special Projects Coordinator MBE/WBE 
  • Public Works & Engineering - Tony Henshaw, Manager, Small Business Programs.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 
 





 
Northeast Water Purification Plant Expansion (NEWPP) - Elizabeth Martin, Diversity Outreach Coordinator accompanied by Robert Monk, Construction Manager, Houston Waterworks Team, JV will review the NEWPP Expansion Project.  The Plant will expand current production levels by 320 million gallons per day. The Project is valued at $1.3 Billion and is expected to extend through 2024.  All trades will be required.
 
 
 





United Terminal Operation Center (UTOC) Program will be briefly reviewed by Layle McKelvey, Diversity Manager and Jason Fuller, Project Director, Manhattan Construction (Construction Manager at Risk).  The  Program includes a new 2.5 wide body Hangar that will support United Airlines' aircraft maintenance to the existing Hangar and Maintenance Facilities. The Program is designed to consolidate United's maintenance activities while streamlining technical operations at IAH.  The Project is estimated at $165 million.  All trades will be required.
